Master The 1v1 First
A squad is only as strong as its weakest link in an isolated duel. If you cannot reliably win a 1v1 - one enemy at full health, same range, fair engagement - you cannot rely on your squad to cover that gap permanently. Work on 1v1s in solo resurgence mode, privately with friends, or on custom servers. Break each duel into four parts: first shot, damage trade, reposition, finish. If you lose the first shot, learn to break line of sight instead of panic-shooting. If you win the damage trade, do not sprint blindly into the finish; reload, plate if needed, and cut the escape route. Practice the same range repeatedly: close-range SMG duels inside 10 metres, mid-range AR fights around 25-40 metres, then awkward fights around stairs and doorframes. The goal is not to win every duel - it is to understand why you lose the ones you lose. A pro who loses a 1v1 knows exactly which decision cost them the fight. An average player just thinks the enemy aimed better.
